It is a compact mechanical device for continuously discharging bulk powders or granules under gravity flow. By definition it is simplest of machines having only one moving part (ignoring the drive); a multi vane rotor revolving in close contact in the housing (clearance will be 0.2mm to 0.4mm) and where the housing has an inlet at the top, and the outlet at the bottom.

  • The function of airlock is to hold pressure or vacuum in a pneumatic system & meter products into conveying lines, or a storage areas, (bins, tanks, hoppers etc.) The airlock rotor is precision machined to obtain a desired high degree of accuracy and closed tolerance. Rotors may be supplied either with fixed or adjustable tips. The airlock rotor is mounted on bearings at each end of the rotor shaft. Rotor clearance is small to prevent excessive air leakage back to the product inlet.

The Screw conveyor is used to handle dry solids to semi fluid materials horizontally or at an inclination. A screw conveyor consists of a shaft mounted screw rotating in a trough and drive unit for running a shaft. The material is moved forward along the axis of the trough by the thrust of screw thread or flight. The shaft is supported by two ends bearings and intermediate bearings f required.

    Standard pitch, single flight screws have the outside diameter equal to the pitch and are the most common screw type used for horizontal screw conveyors and inclines up to 10-degrees. This type of screw Conveyor is generally used for handling fine, free flowing materials. Because the regular diameter and pitch brings about material flow from the forepart of the inlet and not along its entire length, this type of unit should only be used when a hopper is to be completely emptied or where inert or dead areas of material over the inlet do not pose a problem.
  • VARIABLE SCREW CONVEYOR
    Variable pitch, single flight screws have increasing pitch with every flight and are used in screw feeders to provide uniform withdrawal of free-flowing bulk materials from hoppers, bins or silos. Screw Conveyor having a variable pitch are generally used where the material is choke fed from a bin or hopper. The short pitch handles the full cross- sectional load is reduced in proportion to the increase in screw pitch.
  • INCLINED SCREW CONVEYOR
    Screw conveyors may be used in the inclined plane and when space allows, this can be a very economical method of both elevating and conveying simultaneously. It is most important however to understand that as the angle of inclination increases, the capacity of the given unit rapidly decreases. The critical angle at which it becomes most difficult to convey material on an incline is 45 Degree. Inclined conveyors can rarely be used as feeders for accurately measuring material flow. If an accurate flow rate is necessary, a separate horizontal feeder conveyor is required.

A bucket elevator is a mechanism for handling flow able bulk materials (most often grain or fertilizer vertically). Bucket elevator consist of a series of a buckets attached to belt/chain with pulleys or sprocket located at the top & bottom of the unit. The buckets are located in casing or housing to contain the material. Also, it consists of motor to drive the belt. Accessories for loading the buckets or picking up the material, for receiving the discharged material, for maintaining the belt tension and for enclosing and protecting the elevator.

A bucket elevator can elevate a variety of bulk materials from light to heavy and from fine to large lumps. Bulk materials are loaded into each bucket as the bucket moves past an inlet point.
